Remember the post with all the new fabrics I’ve bought? This is the first result, a skirt. It’s a rather simple design, but I was determined to make it as neat as possible. The fabric is a linnen/cotton blend, which I lined with an unbleached cotton. The lining helps to give the skirt some body, and adds that luxury sensation. What I like most about a lined skirt is that it feels so ‘finished’. A skirt like this is prepared for all those unexpected moments when others might catch a glimpse of the inside, wether you walk up the stairs, run to catch a train or sit down on a parc bench to eat your icecream in summertime.

beige top
August 11, 2010Yay, new shots! Just before sunset, when the light is golden and the shadows have a cool blue tone Eelke and I set out for a small shoot. The harbour pier is one of my favourite places nearby (especially when the surf’s up) and also a great place to get coffee and look out over see.
I’m quite happy with this top because I’m really into those beige sandy colors lately, as you could see in the previous post. Particularly in combination with brown or warm yellow accents. And yes, that is the bracelet I made earlier on my wrist.

I can’t deny it: I’m a form follows function person. I prefer Bauhaus over Baroc and Iittala over Alessi when it comes to objects. Same with clothes, simple with maybe one or two cute details are my favorites. Funny thing is that those details often take the longest time to make them, in this dress I embroidered the hem and the neckline with a light beige cross-stich.
