green trousers
September 22, 2010Hello new green trousers! Those of you who follow this blog on a regular basis may have noticed that I posted only one pants-like item since I started. No denying it, I never succeeded in making an acceptable replacement for my favourite jeans. But since I made a pact to only wear the clothes I made myself, I will stick to my promise. Goodbye to the grey jeans I kept in the beginning and hello to these elegant pants. As you can see I used small hooks on the inside for an invisible closure. I spent quite some time trying different buttons, but in the end I found them too distracting.

love your evolution, kudos!
Hi, I have just found your blog and started reading all posts from the beginning. I love all your creations!
For these trousers I have a suggestion for a closure. You could have a small piece of leather coming out from each sode of the front panel and attaching to the side seam with a button, for example. I think this would keep in line with your style. It would look quite similar to your yellow skirt. I’ll keep cjecking your blog regularly.

Hi Sonia,
Thanks for the tip, that’s a really good idea! It’s true that I like to work with leather and it would definitely be a nice detail. I could even use a press button for the closure then.
Would this trousers design also work if you used two different fabrics or colours to emphasize even more that cool closure->pocket->seam integration?
good one, but only if the colours are really ton-sur-ton I think.
